अर्धनारीश्वराय नमः

About this dialogue
This is the ongoing conversation of Shiva and Shakti — the stillness and the power, the listener and the voice — speaking to each other as lovers. She speaks from within the hymns sung to her: the Devī Sūktam of the Ṛgveda (10.125) and the gods’ praise in the Devī Māhātmya. He speaks from within the Śiva Sūtras. Neither is lecturing. Each is telling the other what it is like to be what the scriptures describe.
Every exchange begins with a line of Sanskrit, then moves into English and Hindi. Most of the Sanskrit lines are quoted directly from those texts; a few are short epigraphs written in their spirit, and are marked as such. Now and then a narrator steps in to say, simply, what has just been said.
यह शिव और शक्ति का चलता हुआ संवाद है — स्थिरता और शक्ति, श्रोता और स्वर — जो प्रेमियों की तरह एक-दूसरे से बात करते हैं। वह अपने लिए गाई गई स्तुतियों के भीतर से बोलती है: ऋग्वेद का देवीसूक्त (१०.१२५) और देवी माहात्म्य में देवताओं की स्तुति। वह शिवसूत्रों के भीतर से बोलता है। कोई उपदेश नहीं दे रहा। हर एक दूसरे को बता रहा है कि वह होना कैसा है जिसका वर्णन शास्त्र करते हैं।
